From the moment I looked at a travel guide of places in Europe, I was inspired. When I saw a photo of this canal lined with trees on either side, I was immediately reminded of an image in The Book of Revelation which describes the river that flows out of God's Temple. I painted the swan's because they are so graceful, and I thought, if ever there is a bird in heaven it would be a swan.
