“What is this?” has been a driving question for me regarding life, life’s journey, human existence, and what we call reality. I have this sense that there is something in our own awareness that has been hidden or diluted by the distractions of so-called “normal” day-to-day experience. There is more to us than just what we believe consists in the concept of “me,” “mine,” and “I.” There have been little awakening moments sprinkled across my lifetime. I know with certainty that I am not alone in these experiences.
This painting is nothing more than the proverbial finger pointing to the moon… look beyond the finger. The poem is written on the backside, nothing more than a signpost. Together they give form to what that inner quest for understanding looks like to me… for now.
