This painting speaks to the “Me” that nobody knows. I have been locked away for 35 years, but I have much value. My very existence adds life to our universe. These particular butterflies represent new life—in spite of being incarcerated in the polluted, restricted, isolated, sealed and ongoing nightmare of prison.
