In painting images of women I most love and admire for their wisdom, compassion, and courage, I hoped to give women in prison who encounter their images hope, inspiration, and the idea that women have been doing great and amazing things for a very long time and succeeding. May these women continue to impact hearts and minds as positive role models for years to come.
