This piece recaptures the moment when I felt that everything I owned was lost and taken away. Refusing to give up at the time, I told myself, “I need to come up with something that no one can take away from me.” This piece is me looking down at my hands seeing the power and endless possibilities. This may be the most important painting I’ve ever created, because it represents my moment of rediscovery, the moment I felt like I had nothing, but searched… and found myself. This piece symbolizes the reason I’m even here.
