Journeying to the top of some misty mountain peak, under perilous conditions, is often the backdrop to some symbolic quest. The narrow mountain paths are always fraught with many challenges that must be overcome. The traveler undertakes the quest to obtain understanding and wisdom, driven by the need to heal wounds...both his own as well as those he caused others.
This illustration is representative of that journey that has been taking place within me over the past three decades. The traveler, the child, the creature being encountered are all aspects of the self. The Wheel of Dharma (the Dharmachakra) in the background is what guides that traveler to his Original Nature. It's the most meaningful quest any sentient being can undertake.
