Experto Crede (Believe one who has had experience), 2023

This painting was one of two for a project called “Involuntary Servitude.” Using reference material, I picked out a face that I could alter to achieve that particular “I’ve seen a lot” look. Doing this portrait in grayscale, and then doing the eyes with color, added the impact I sought after. He has the look of someone who has been through it.
